Philosophy of Ministry
The ministries of Lambuth Memorial Church are designed to attract those searching for meaning and purpose in their lives, introducing them to the saving power of Jesus Christ, providing a path to living victoriously through Him, and empowering them for service and leadership in their church, community and world.

We Exist To
1.Our overall goal is to share the love of Jesus to the world — (John 3:16)

2. Communicate God’s Word through our words and lives – Evangelism (Acts 1:8, II Peter 3:9, Matthew 24:14)

3. Celebrate God’s presence as we gather together and as we go out into the world – Worship (Matthew 4:10, John 4:23-24, Psalm 122:1)

4. Assimilate God’s family with service to others – Ministry (Galatians 6:10, Acts 2:42, Romans 12:3-8)

5. Educate God’s people through teaching and example - Discipleship (Hebrews 6:1, Ephesians 4:11-13, II Peter 3:18)
6. Demonstrate God’s love by regularly gathering together – Fellowship (II Corinthians 8:4, Galatians 2:9, I John 1:7)
What We Believe
GOD
We believe in one living and true God, eternal and of infinite power, wisdom, goodness, and righteousness. God is a loving and faithful God who is the Creator and preserver of all things.
JESUS CHRIST
We believe in the divine nature of Jesus Christ, God's only son, who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin named Mary. Christ was both fully man and fully God. His purpose was to restore our relationship to God, which was broken by sin (disobedience). Christ rose from the dead and ascended into heaven in full victory over Satan and sin.
THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe in the Holy Spirit as the person and expression of the Holy Trinity who lives within us, giving us the power to live a holy life and guiding us to truth. The Holy Spirit’s Presence is what makes Lambuth Memorial Church unique. God’s absence is what makes church and religion boring and lifeless.
THE AUTHORITY OF SCRIPTURE
We believe that the books of the Old and New Testaments combined constitute the Holy Bible. The Holy Bible is inspired by the Holy Spirit and is our essential, primary, and ultimate authority for our lives. Lambuth Memorial UM Church also believes in studying it and rightly understanding the Bible for guidance and wisdom for everyday life. Scripture is primary and then reason, tradition and experience help us discern God’s Word.

SALVATION
Because people are unable to save themselves from their sinful condition, salvation is altogether the work of God. Neither good works nor self-improvement can make up for our sin. Salvation is the free gift of God. However, like any gift it must be received. This gift is received by faith, or by believing and trusting in Jesus Christ who died as our substitute that we might live.
